Who am I to argue?

So, today is not my birthday.
If it was you would more than likely know.
But, from the moment Tatum got home from pre-school she insisted that it was my birthday, and she really, really wanted to make cupcakes. Who am I to argue? We made cupcakes. We even ordered pizza for dinner. We celebrated my birthday until daddy came home, then it was daddy's birthday. Who am I to argue?

Now this is the same kid that cried when faced with his birthday cake.
He's come so far.

Oh, the love when there's cupcakes.

Double fisting

Who am I to argue?

I am a child of God.

The kids love this book that Grandparents Bunker sent us for Easter. Lincoln can't get enough of it. You not only lift the flaps, but there are pull tabs and picture turn wheels as well. Such a great activity book for church.
Get it here.

Road Trip.

We went to Ione. Northern California.
We missed our Ione family.
My mom, the kids and I hopped in the car (unplanned trip) Monday morning and headed to Ione to see Holly before her big new adventures at BYU Hawaii. So exciting. The ride there wasn't that bad, but it wasn't good either. The 6 hour drive took us about 8 hours. Tatum was an angel. Lincoln had a hard time, he just couldn't get comfortable and the movies were not keeping his attention, and he DID NOT NAP ONCE!
We arrived at the Lively's just in time for little Peyton's first birthday party and the kids couldn't have been more excited. You would have thought that Lincoln would be ornery, but he was such a charmer and even did his pajama dance for Brian.

The local park
GoGo is underneath the play structure.

Check out this kid's outfit. Who dresses him?

We went on the '5 mile drive' to see real live cows.

The Stare-down

They didn't sleep in the car but they had no problems sleeping at the Lively's.

Can you spot ducky?

The drive home took us 9 hours, I know right, not fun. I was close to a break down. Tatum was great. Lincoln had a rough, rough day. I felt bad for him. No rest stop was ever long enough, and we were so glad to see daddy when we got home.

Lively's the drive was worth it. We loved staying in the crowded house with all your family and we had so much fun.

Aloha, Holly we are proud of you!

(Sorry I swiped this pic from your FACEBOOK)

Easter 2009

We went with brown and coral for our Sunday dress this year and it may be no surprise to find out that is was based around Tatum. My mom found this sweet dress for Tatum and we all followed suit!
Isn't she sweet?

Raise your hand if you love Easter?

Can I please get one photo with both of them looking?

It was so fun to share in the excitement of Easter with Tatum and Lincoln and to see how excited they were with the candy and eggs how grateful I am to experience this with them, but more importantly I am grateful for the knowledge I have of the resurrection.

“I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so I know the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.” (John 10:14-15)

I know that Jesus Christ died for us. I know He suffered and laid down His life because he loves us. I know that if we choose to follow Him we will be happy. I know He died, but more importantly I know He has risen. He lives!

“And now after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!” (D& C 76:22)
Happy Easter

Hooray for the Easter Bunny!

" Hey Minken, waaatch OUT you are stepping on the Easter bunny feets!"

Easter Morning 2009

The bunny prints lead right to the back door- & the baskets!

Yes, that is ducky she is carrying. Need and explanation see here.

Lincoln and Tatum's Baskets
A few items in the baskets have been around a few years. The carrot baseball bat was initially a gift from the Easter Bunny to Ben a few years back, then it ended up in Tatum's and now has found it's way into Lincoln's basket. The bunny ears were once mine and Ben's and are now Tatum's and Lincoln's, and a few other things have been reused. Until someone notices, things will be recycled.

Get your hunt on...

Tatum had her share of egg hunts this year. 1. Pre-school egg hunt 2. Peterson Family Egg Hunt 3. Glow-in-the-dark Egg Hunt 4. Easter Morning Egg Hunt
There would have been a fifth hunt had it not rained.

Lincoln seen here egg-snatching from Tatum's basket.

Lincoln discovered that he only liked the chocolate candy, my kind of kid!

I found some really cool glow-in -the-dark eggs, we did this on Easter Eve. I think this was Tatum's favorite hunt. I didn't even put candy in these ones, it was all about the hunt.
