" It's a Small World After All"

My mom (GoGo), Tatum, Lincoln and myself ventured to Disneyland for the day, February 23 and we had a FABULOUS day. We went on "It's a small world" first, what a great way to start the day. Lincoln danced through the whole ride and Tatum was awe-stricken by all the singing and dancing, and she loved finding the new characters that have been recently added. The day was going great until I decided that the Pirates of the Carribean would be a great idea, both kids in tears and Tatum literally trying to walk off the ride midway through. Those tears and fears were no match for the robotic Pluto GoGo bought for Tatum. We ended on a good note and can't wait to go back. Maybe, Friday?

Lincoln lounging on the way home. Check out those thighs! This kid always has pants on, because he likes to pull of his diaper, so this is a rare shot of those chubby legs. Love them.

In a few short weeks I will be going private. I love blogging, it is my journaling/personal venting/scrapbooking/baby booking all in one. I know I wrote that I was going private, but I have since decided to postpone that thought. Who knows I may change my mind again, but for now I am staying public. I know call me Jekyll, call me Hyde.
All those who sent me your email , I have filed them away just in case I change my mind again =) !

" It never rains in Southern California.."

Yeah right! It has been raining for about 2 weeks now, we have had a few moments of sunshine mixed in there , but for the most part; RAIN, RAIN, HAIL, and even more RAIN. The 10 day forecast looks about the same. Which is good. We need rain. I like rain, but today is a holiday. Ben is home we are a house full of sickies and it would be nice to feel the sunshine. I love soup on a rainy day, so we treated ourselves. We picked up some soup and bread at:

and the kids ate:

they don't appreciate Panera anyway!

Sans kids

Ben and I went out Thursday 2/12/09, to celebrate Valentines Day. We went to beat the crowds and also so we could spend Valentines Day on Saturday with our kids.
You might wonder where we went?

It shouldn't be too hard to guess...

We loved the evening alone, we loved the food, we loved celebrating!

Never turn your back...

.... on a three year old helping you bake. Tatum loves to help and this is one of the main reasons,

Tatum and I made these mini cupcakes for her class, the cake batter made 96 of these little cupcakes, they were perfect for little fingers, little mouths and little tummies.

Alright, another reason to keep a close eye on your child: cocoa powder explosion. We were making frosting for another batch of cupcakes and I went to the fridge to grab the milk and ....

Thanks Pa and Gogo for our adorable Valentine outfits. We love you!

I wanted a picture of the two of them in their festive gear and I asked Tatum to hold onto Lincoln, she sure knows how to listen.

Holding on, adorable right?
Clenching her teeth and tightening her grip, but still holding on.

Still holding,

determined not to let go!

Not worth the struggle, I go this one solo!

" That candy tastes like chalk"

Does anyone else think that those conversation hearts taste like chalk? Lincoln had been caught eating chalk before so it was no surprise that he likes these hearts. I don't like the conversation heart candies, roses aren't my favorite flower and I don't think I would enjoy getting hit with a heart shaped arrow but I do LOVE Valentine's Day! I love making cookies/cupcakes decorated in pink and red, I love making Valentine cards with stickers and glitter, I love having another reason to celebrate. To all the Valentine naysayers, I agree we shouldn't zero out one day a year to show someone that we love them, we should do that everyday and everyday can be a reason to celebrate but it is FUN to do a little something extra once and awhile, so I say brings on Valentines Day!!!

Crafting the Valentines Cards

Cupid Dropped In

Ben's mailbox:

I first saw the above shirt and thought, "Yep he does love his spreadsheets, perfect!" I did a little more searching and came across the shirt below, now this is PERFECT!

Description from website:
This shirt reminds me of my buddy Phil who is an accountant. He is the spreadsheet king. You would never realize it by looking at him, but he has quite the temper. He gets ejected or nearly ejected from most recreation league sports for talking trash to opposing players and referees. He's got mad spreadsheets though.

Vintage Seafoam Ultra Soft 100% Cotton T-Shirt with Blue Print

Also in his mailbox; chocolate covered sunflower seeds, a small box of chocolate & caramel truffles and an accordion card, and a card from Tatum.

Tricia's Mailbox

A card from Tatum and ;

Love, love, love these handmade earrings Ben gifted me.
Oh and the card it is the coolest card, the heart is actually a super thin piece of wood and this is what Bennie wrote on the back:

" It's like this bird-----soaring
Is just like me----adoring you,
And through clouds, I glide
Slow motion, your stride.
My heart stops but wings flutter
No elegant words, my song uttered.
Like these birds---a myriad,
'I love you. Period.' "

A little bit of SUNSHINE

Last week, a full 7 days Ben was sick. Very, very sick. It started with just a little tickle in his throat and turned into Ben being bedridden with bronchitis. It made for a long week for everyone involved. He ended up at Urgent Care on Wednesday and came home with an inhaler, a sleep-inducing cough suppressant and a Z Pack. On his way home from picking up the medications he also picked up these beautiful flowers. For me.

Tatum wanted flowers of her own to put in a vase.
