I don't think there is any other food that can illicit a hunger pang quite like the smell of frying bacon. I. love. bacon. Period. Last night( like most nights) I was scrambling to figure out what to do for dinner. The choice was chicken tacos and rice or breakfast for dinner. I would have chosen the chicken tacos had I not had a pound of bacon in the fridge. It was a breakfast feast. Eggs, bacon, hash browns and waffles.
While prepping the waffle batter I had a little helper at my legs ( I think the smell of bacon got to him too). I turned to grab a measuring cup and Linc decided to mix the batter himself.
It scared him. The waffle batter mixed with tears turned to cement on his stomach. Despite the set back we still had bacon.
Bunker's and Bjarnason's Our friends from Vegas were here for a short visit so I took the kids out to see them in Irvine. It was a quick get together but we had so much fun getting the kids reacquainted with one another.

Clare and Lincoln 'Ring Around the Rosy'
We headed over to Irvine Spectrum to play in the water.
Tatum, Clare, Lincoln, Becks Nothing cuter than babies bums! It is always great to see this cute family, we miss being so close!
A few weeks back for our F.H.E activity we set up a little obstacle course for the KIDS. Tatum insisted that it was a Popsicle course and not an obstacle course, who are we to argue.
The kids loved it and watching Ben was the highlight of the night.
What a fun day! During Vines Beach Week we went to Sea World for the day with the Lively's. I hadn't been to Sea World for almost 20 years, so I think I was just as excited as Tatum. Except for the day being exceptionally hot, it was really fun and I think everyone enjoyed it. We even dressed in black and white to match Shamu, totally worth it!

I look forward to this week every year. I think we figured that we have been doing beach week for 22 years now. 22 years of memories. I can't think of a better place to reconnect with family. I remember all 13 cousins sleeping on the floor in the 'blue house' and the big family dinners each night. Even before the 'blue house' there was the 'brown house' and know we are fortunate to stay at the Vines' Beach Compound. Fishing trips, sunburns, cramped sleeping quarters, games and bbq's. I think I love the beach as much as my grandma Betty did. We miss them. The beach week has also unofficially been a testing ground for prospective family members, weeding our boyfriends and girlfriends. Fortunately Ben passed. This year we celebrated the fourth of July and Zach's 8th birthday. I love being together. Our family continues to multiply; 4 of the now 14 cousins are married with 6 kids between us and 3 more on the way. Isn't it amazing?
